Use AI in your label without risking your designs or your customers
A small label's most valuable things are its unreleased designs and its customer list. If someone pastes next season's sketches or a Klaviyo export into a free AI tool, you've lost track of where they went. We set simple rules for what AI may see, which tools are approved, and who checks any claim about fabric or sustainability before it's published. You keep using AI, with the risky parts closed off.

Where a fashion business needs AI rules
Unreleased designs
Sketches, tech packs, and samples for the next drop stay out of AI tools that might keep them.
Customer lists
Klaviyo and Shopify customer data is only read by AI helpers set up on your own accounts, for one job at a time.
Fabric and sustainability claims
Anything the AI drafts about fibre content, origin, or sustainability is checked by a person against the maker's documents.
Approved tools
A short list of AI tools your team may use, with a one-page guide in plain words for casuals and new staff.
Where the risk sits
In a small label, AI use usually starts without a plan. The founder asks a chat tool to tidy a product description. A casual pastes a customer list into one to write a launch email. Someone uploads a sketch to see what a print would look like in another colourway. Each step feels small, but the label no longer knows where its designs and customer details went.
The rules we put in place
Using AI safely (the industry calls it AI governance) means a few clear rules your team follows without having to think hard. We list what AI must never see, like unreleased designs and customer exports. We choose the tools your label approves and set them up on your own accounts. Then we build your AI helpers so each one only reads what its job needs. A one-page guide sits beside it for anyone who helps in launch week.

How it looks with real work
We work with Marlow & Thread, a two-person slow fashion label in Melbourne, where an AI helper drafts product descriptions, care notes, and size guides from the maker’s spec sheet. A drop of 30 pieces now goes live in 2 days instead of 6. The AI helper only sees spec sheets for pieces about to launch, and the founder still writes the fit notes after trying each piece. Nothing goes live without the founder’s read.
What rules can’t stop
Rules help only when people follow them, and a guide can’t stop someone using a personal account late at night. We make the safe way the easy way, but your label owns the choice. We also don’t give legal advice, so questions about design rights or claims in your ads go to your adviser.
