Human-centred artificial intelligence

Human-centred artificial intelligence means designing AI around people rather than around what the technology can do. The AI helps people do their work better, and people stay in charge of decisions that matter. In practice, that means clear rules about what the AI does on its own and what it hands to a person. We work with a solo brow and lash artist whose AI helper answers price and availability questions in Instagram messages and sends the booking link. Anything about allergies or skin goes straight to the artist. We learned this the hard way with a three-person online skincare store. Our first order-email helper sent a cheerful tracking link to a customer whose jar arrived broken, so now every reply waits for a person.
