Client portals and internal tools sized for a small studio
Agencies build websites for clients all day, but their own tools are often a patchwork of email, shared folders, and spreadsheets. Clients approve work by replying to a long thread. Briefs arrive as voice notes. We build small apps that fix those gaps, like an approval page, a brief form, or a client view of the content calendar, connected to Asana or monday.com. If a tool you already pay for does the job, we'll show you.

What we build for small agencies
Approval page
One page per client showing work waiting for sign-off, with approve and comment buttons that update your project board.
Brief intake form
A form that asks clients the questions your team always ends up asking, and creates the job in Asana with the answers.
Client content calendar
A read-only view of upcoming posts for each client, pulled from your planning board, so they stop asking what's next.
Internal capacity view
A simple page showing who's booked on what this week, from your project board, for the director to plan with.
Where a studio’s own tools fall behind
Small agencies build good websites and apps for their clients and then run their own studio on email threads. Approvals come back as “looks good, but can we try blue” buried in reply number fourteen. Briefs arrive as a voice note and a screenshot. Clients ask what’s going out next week because they can’t see the calendar. Each gap is small, and together they slow every job down.
What we build
Apps and websites (the industry calls it custom software) means building the small thing your studio needs and connecting it to the tools you already use. That might be an approval page where each client sees the work waiting on them and clicks approve, which updates your project board. It might be a brief form that asks the questions your team always ends up asking. Or a client view of the content calendar, so they stop emailing to ask. We keep each build small, so it’s quick to make and easy to look after.

Where it fits with our agency work
We work with Saltbush Studio, a six-person design agency in Fremantle. An AI helper drafts its Friday updates to twelve retainer clients from the tasks in Asana, and all twelve now take the director under an hour. Each update ends with what the studio needs from the client, which is often an approval. An approval page is the natural next step for a studio like this, because the ask and the answer end up in one place.
Where we hold back
We won’t build what an existing tool already does well. If your project board’s client view works for your clients, we’ll set it up and save you the build. A custom page also needs looking after as the tools around it change, so our builds sit inside a package rather than being handed over and left.
If client approvals keep slowing your jobs, get your AI Starter Plan and tell it where the gaps are.
