Fixing AI-built apps with Cursor

You built an app in Cursor. We'll help you make it safe to rely on

Cursor makes it possible for a founder to build a working app over a few weekends, and plenty do. The trouble often comes later, when real customers use it. Something breaks and nobody knows why, a fix in one place breaks another, or you realise customer data might not be as locked down as you thought. We review your Cursor-built app, fix the problems that matter most, add the checks that stop them coming back, and help you keep building with Cursor safely.

What you get

What we fix for you in Cursor-built apps

01

A plain review

We read through your app and tell you, in plain words, what's solid, what's risky, and what to fix first.

02

Security and data fixes

We look for exposed passwords and keys, open databases, and pages anyone can reach, then close them.

03

Tests for the parts that matter

Automatic checks on sign-up, payments, and other key steps, so a change doesn't quietly break them.

04

Backups and a way back

Your code in version control and your data backed up, so a bad change can be undone.

05

Rules for building on

Project rules for Cursor and a short guide, so the AI writes code that fits how your app is already built.

Your app works, until it doesn’t

You built it yourself in Cursor. Maybe it’s a booking tool, a client portal, or the app behind your course. It worked well enough to launch, and now real people use it. But a fix in one place breaks something else, you’re not sure where customer data is stored or who can see it, and every change feels like a gamble. You need it to keep running, and you don’t have a developer to call.

Why Cursor on its own doesn’t finish the job

Cursor is very good at writing code fast. Ask it for a feature and you’ll often have something working within the hour. What it doesn’t do unless you ask is the dull, protective work, like tests that catch a broken sign-up, checks that stop one customer seeing another’s data, and backups for when something goes wrong.

It also only knows what it can see in the moment. As an app grows, Cursor can write a new piece that doesn’t match how the old pieces work, and small mismatches pile up into bugs nobody can trace.

How we fix it

We start with a plain review. We read through your app and list what’s solid, what’s risky, and what to fix first, in words you don’t need to be a developer to follow.

Security and customer data come first. We look for passwords and keys sitting in the code, databases open to the internet, and pages anyone can reach without logging in, and we close them. Then we add tests for the steps your business depends on, like sign-up, payments, and bookings, so a change can’t break them without anyone noticing.

Next, we make sure there’s a way back. That means your code in version control and your data backed up. Last, we set up project rules for Cursor and a short guide, so the code it writes from now on matches how your app is built. You keep building, and we review the bigger changes with you.

When fixing a Cursor app is the right call, and when it isn’t

It’s the right call when the app does real work for your business and customers rely on it. Most of the time, targeted fixes get it there.

If the app was a quick experiment and nobody depends on it, a review may cost more than it’s worth. And sometimes the fastest safe path is to rebuild one part properly. We’ll say so plainly, and we won’t rebuild what’s working.

FAQs

Common questions

What is Cursor?
Cursor is a code editor with AI built in. You describe what you want, and it writes or changes code across your project. It's popular with developers and with founders building their first app.
Is an app built in Cursor bad?
Not at all. Plenty of good apps are built with Cursor. The common gaps are the things AI skips unless you ask, like security checks, tests, and backups. Those are what we look at first.
Do I have to stop using Cursor?
No. We'd rather you keep building. We set up project rules and checks so Cursor's changes fit your app, and we review the bigger changes with you.
Will you rewrite my app from scratch?
Rarely. Most apps need targeted fixes, not a rebuild. If parts need rewriting, we'll tell you which, why, and what it costs before starting.
What does it cost?
Every package has a fixed price, shown on the packages page before you talk to anyone. The AI Starter Plan is free and shows where to start.
