Predictive maintenance

Predictive maintenance means watching how a piece of equipment is running so you can fix it before it breaks, instead of after. It's mostly a factory and fleet idea, where sensors on big machines and trucks report back all day. The small-team version is simpler. A cafe can keep a log of its coffee machine's service dates, odd noises, and slow shots, and a venue can keep its cool room temperatures in a shared sheet. An AI helper (the industry calls it an agent) can read that log each week and flag anything that looks off, like a cool room creeping warmer. It can only spot what's been written down or measured, so if nobody records the readings, there's nothing to predict from, and a technician still makes the call on repairs.
